Dental implants are essentially artificial tooth roots. The metal implant is surgically placed in the jawbone. At this point, bone tissue starts to bond with the implant ultimately creating a rigid man-made root. Once this healing phase is complete, the implant(s) can then be used as an anchor(s) for whatever the final treatment requires. Implants can be used to replace a single tooth, multiple teeth, or all your teeth. Patients who have struggled with complete dentures can have them anchored with dental implants so that there is no movement whatsoever. No more sore spots, adjustments, and relines.
